We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead our Marketing & Merchandising team for woven garments. The General Manager – Marketing & Merchandiser will be responsible for driving business growth through strategic marketing initiatives, developing and maintaining strong buyer relationships, overseeing the merchandising process from development to delivery, and ensuring timely execution aligned with customer expectations. The ideal candidate will bring proven expertise in woven garments, strong leadership capabilities, and a result-oriented mindset to steer the company's global market presence.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective marketing strategies to acquire new buyers and expand into new markets.
- Identify business opportunities, analyze market trends, and initiate strategies for sustainable growth.
- Set annual business targets and take full ownership of meeting sales and profitability goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with international buyers and buying houses.
- Handle buyer communications, costing, price negotiations, order confirmations, and approvals.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction by understanding and meeting buyer requirements.
- Oversee the end-to-end merchandising process from product development, sampling, approvals, production follow-up to shipment.
- Ensure the merchandising team is aligned with buyer expectations in terms of quality, lead time, and compliance.
- Lead and mentor a team of merchandisers and marketing executives to ensure high performance.
- Coordinate closely with production, planning, design, and quality departments to ensure seamless execution of orders.
- Collaborate with design and R&D teams to develop new products and collections in line with market trends and buyer demands.
- Ensure competitive product offerings in terms of design, cost, and delivery.
- Oversee accurate product costing and set competitive pricing strategies.
- Ensure profitability while maintaining market competitiveness.
- Monitor order status to ensure on-time delivery without compromising quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to delays, quality, or buyer concerns.
- Prepare regular reports on order status, sales performance, market feedback, and business forecasts for top management.
- Ensure all buyer compliance, testing, and quality standards are strictly followed.
- Support the QA/QC teams to resolve issues proactively.
Academic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Arts (BA)
- Concentration/Major: Graduation in any discipline
