OMC Steels Ltd. is seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager for its Finance and Accounts department. This role is responsible for managing the company's financial operations, overseeing costing, taxation, and compliance, and ensuring optimal financial performance. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in the steel manufacturing industry and a strong background in accounting, finance, taxation, VAT, and banking.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, profit & loss accounts, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial data.
- Analyze financial performance and recommend strategies for improvement.
- Costing & Budget Control:
- Supervise product costing and variance analysis to ensure profitability.
- Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cost-control initiatives.
- Provide insights on cost optimization and efficiency.
- Taxation & VAT Management:
- Ensure full compliance with taxation laws, including corporate taxes and VAT regulations.
- Manage the preparation and filing of tax returns and coordinate with tax authorities.
- Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize tax liabilities.
- Banking & Financial Operations:
- Manage banking relationships, ensure smooth cash flow, and handle banking transactions.
- Oversee the company’s financing arrangements, including loans, credit facilities, and risk management.
- Audit & Compliance:
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including financial and tax audits.
- Strategic Financial Planning:
- Provide strategic financial advice to senior management for decision-making.
- Lead long-term financial planning and forecasting activities to ensure sustainable business growth.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and mentor the finance and accounts team, fostering a culture of high performance.
- Develop team capabilities in financial analysis, reporting, and compliance.
Academic Qualifications:
- Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- Concentration/Major: Accounting/ Management
Professional Certifications:
- Qualified/Partly Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost & Management Accountant (CMA).
